" The productivity of our Saurer S1040 has increased dramatically!"

Balaji Embroidery, south east of Delhi, started in the embroidery business in 2002 with a Saurer S1040. The company has expanded dramatically in recent years and is today a family business with around 100 employees. Every kind of schiffli embroidery is produced in special lace.

Where satisfaction with the machine is concerned, Balaji are of the same opinion as many other embroiderers. The management were impressed with the fundamental quality of the machine. The operation however was restricted by the unreliability of a few components.

"We were very frustrated by regular automatic embroidering machine faults as these were a constant worry for us during ongoing production. In addition, we were seeking a solution to improve our poor stitch quality (caused by over-stitching amongst others things)." The resolution to these problems presented itself in the form of a servo drive technology retrofit. After evaluating the solutions available on the market the management came to the conclusion that retrofitting with Pantec EmControl was the only true option - and this has proven a success for over two years now. "The retrofitting of the S1040 with EmControl has brought a new impetus to our company. The stitch quality has dramatically improved due to the precise frame movement and machine faults are no longer an issue. And because of this, servicing work that often had to be carried out in the middle of the night is no longer necessary. This had reduced our team's workload hugely."

The company has also profited from the increased performance of the machines. "On the one hand the machine speed is significantly higher since the retrofit and this has naturally increased our output. One the other hand, we used to have four or five machine breakdowns every month resulting in delivery difficulties. Now we have almost no breakdowns."

The conclusion from Balaji: "As expected the productivity of the machine increased, the operation of the machine has become simpler and our employees are happy to work with the machine."

After this positive experience, Balaji also plans to install EmControl systems on further machines in the near future.
